The ZU-23 towed gun system mounts a pair of 23mm guns that are aimed optically by the gunner. The system is completely manual, and due to it's small size and lack of armor, it is relatively easy to kill. It also has a very difficult time engaging targets in anything other than clear, daytime weather, since it's only capable of optical tracking. This system, while dangerous if taken for granted, is usually more of a nuisance than a real threat.
