The T-80M main battle tank is natural evolution from the earlier T-72 series. It's 125mm main gun has a better fire control system, and it is mechanically superior to the older tanks. However, it still retains the same basic look as the T-72, with the easiest differentiating aspect being the separation of the two 55 gallon fuel tanks at the rear of the vehicle, leaving a gap between the two drums.
