The Rapier SAM system is a low altitude air defense system produced in the U.K. for both it's own use and for export. It is usually found with several other launchers linked to a Blindfire radar system, although the Blindfire is not required for the Rapier launcher to track and engage targets. In many cases, the Blindfire radar will acquire and track a target, and a Rapier launcher that does not have line of site to your aircraft can fire on you. This makes the destruction of the Blindfire radar a priority, as it will then require that the Rapier launcher has a line of sight to it's target to fire. The Rapier seems to be a favorite of Iranian forces in the Azerbaijan campaign, where they are deployed in both forward areas and in the rear.
