The Avenger is the standard forward area air defense weapon of U.S. forces. It carries 8 Stinger missiles in 2 launchers, and also has a .50 cal machine gun under one of the launchers for additional firepower (although I do not believe this is modeled in the game). The Avenger is a common sight on the battlefield, being found either in groups of four in a static position, as well as singly or in pairs at FARPs and alongside fron line units. The Stinger has a maximum range of 4.5 km, and it's small warhead makes it possible for an armored helicopter to survive a single hit from one. However it is very accurate and maneuverable, with good ECCM capabilities, making it a hard missile to dodge.
